Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend  Next Entry
I went shopping for Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. Paul and I are going to our friends Daniel and Cindy's house and then going to MY parents. Since we are vegan, it pretty much means we have to bring our whole dinner with us. Daniel works at Whole Foods and Cindy is an English adjunct (just like Paul and I), so they are kind of hip and will have a few vegan side dishes. Paul and I will be having: Tofurky, corn, rolls, mushroom gravey, mashed potatoes (with roasted walnuts and artichock hearts), homemade stuffing (with celery, onions and fresh sage), and Acorn Squash with baked green apples. We are also having Whole Food's brand vegan pumpkin pie and soy whipped cream. MMM....

I'm a little nervous about the MY parents part of the holiday. Paul has never met my mother. He's met my Dad, but at a family thing and there was a lot of pressure on my Dad to behave at the event. Paul's met my Grandma, too. He hasn't met my brother- Scott can be rather surly sometimes. I'm going for my Mom's sake. She excited about it and I can tell. We are going to Paul's sisters house on Friday for Thanksgiving there, and that makes for a total of three Thanksgivings. Wow!

The semester is coming to an end- Thank God. I have to start working on next semester almost immediately afterwards. A whole new class, means a whole new syllabus. :( This makes me unhappy because I wanted to do so much while on break. Amie (from San Fransisco) will be here from Dec. 26-Jan.2, staying with us! I'm excited, but school starts on Jan. 8th. This leaves very little time for me to prepare. I wanted to paint another room before Amie's arrival. My painting/redecorating has definately been put-on-hold because of work. I just want to do the computer room and have it look cool for my guest and for my Birthday Party on Dec. 27. So much to do, so little time.

It is miserable outside today- rainy and cold (I guess it could be colder), but I am still going to workout. During the past few months, I've been very flakey when it comes to the gym; some weeks I go four times and then, some not-at-all. I would like to stay consistent. We'll see how next semester rolls out.
